The first assignment: From any outdoor starting point, make a photograph. Take 11 normal steps and make another photograph. Take another 11 steps in any direction and make another photograph. Repeat this procedure until you have made 30 photos.

Where better to start than outside my front door? I've picked out 8 pictures that 'worked' and represent some of different aspects of a typical London street. When your standpoint is limited, you start to look more closely at what's really around you.

Week two...
Shoot 2 images demonstrating low and high viewpoints.
Shoot 2 images demonstrating different camera angles.
Shoot 2 images using 2 framing techniques.

Having had an unexpectedly busy week, I ended up shooting these at night, which wasn't ideal.

1. Choose a subject as your point of interest. take 4 photos of the subject placing each in one of the areas indicated in red in the frame below.

2. Choose one scene or subject and
a. shoot it so that the viewer is aware of the foreground and background only.
b. shoot the same scene so that the viewer is aware of the foreground, middle ground and the background.

3. Can you shoot one object as a:
long shot, medium shot, closeup shot, extreme closeup shot - and make each photo devastatingly interesting?

Create 5-10 photographs:
* shooting across the light
* shooting with the light behind you
* shooting into the light
* shooting shadow as the main subject
* shooting light as the main subject

* Shoot 3 images in colour which expore the properties of colour
* Shoot 3 images in black & white which expore the tones of black & white
* Shoot 2 images demonstrating texture
* Shoot 2 images demonstrating pattern

Shoot 5 images demonstrating
* 3 forms of perspective
* 2 dramatic examples of scale

Shoot 6 images using shutter speed to show movement and to stop movement as discussed in class.
